Heat-treated wood is a durable choice for saunas and damp areas. Heat treatment reduces moisture absorption, increases durability and gives the wood a warm light brown colour. Heat-treated tarred alder is treated in our own factory to a fairly light brown colour, which matches the shade of other manufacturers’ heat-treated woods. If you’re looking for a darker shade of panel, we have heat-treated aspen and heat-treated radiata pine in our range. Heat-treated wood can be further treated with a sauna-safe wood wax or paraffin oil.
