Since 1814 WUSTHOF has set the standard for designing and manufacturing precision-forged knives. Today the family business is in its seventh generation of ownership, under the management of Harald Wusthof. Wusthof knives are manufactured by a skilled team of 300 dedicated workers in two state-of-the-art facilities in Solingen, Germany. Production follows strict rules in order to achieve the finest quality, while at the same time remaining environmentally friendly. The WÜSTHOF Universal Hand-Held Knife Sharpener can be adjusted to sharpen either standard or Asian-style blades. Each setting provides two stages of sharpening for a total of four stages. First, use the carbide sharpening slot to smooth irregularities and refine the angle of the blade edge. Next, the knife can be drawn through the ceramic sharpening slot to finish honing the blade to a refined, razor-sharp edge. Because it can be switched easily between standard and Asian blades, this is the only sharpener you need to keep all your premium kitchen knives sharp. Care & Use: Always clean your sharpener after use. Clean with a damp cloth or mild brush, wipe dry. Do not rinse with water.
